Last weekend we had a wonderful time with family. My aunt and uncle came up to visit and we celebrated it with a good old family tradition, a picnic by the beach! Summer is in full swing and the days are hot and the nights are cold. Isn’t Georgian Bay absolutely beautiful? I feel so blessed to call this home, the dark blue water and islands in the background and can’t forget the stunning views of the Niagara Escarpment. I keep trying to convince my husband we need a boat lol I don’t think it’s happening anytime soon… a girl can dream right? But if not a boat kayaking on these waters would be so relaxing.
What to wear to a beach picnic you might ask? Well you want to keep it very relaxed and conferrable. I styled my outfit with these wide leg jeans I purchase from Joe Fresh at the beginning of summer. They are so comfortable and I love wearing them, the jean material is so light and I love a good light blue denim look.
In keeping with blues I went with my blue and white Sperry Boat shoes. They are an oldie but a goodie especially for at the beach and one with a lot of rocks! Another footwear alternative I would choose to wear with this outfit are my brown Birkenstock’s. I pretty much live in them through out summer in and out of the house. I like the classic 2 strap Arizona style in brown {here} they are my favourite!
I’m loving the look of red and light blue or teal combos this summer. So naturally I had to pair this look with a red cardigan. I don’t even remember how long I’ve had this one, I found it at winners a few years back and it has little flamingoes embordered on it. How cute is that?!? If you are into embroidery it would make a fun little diy!
It was so windy out that day and having a 2 month old that likes to pull hair I am wearing my hair up most days. I wanted to try something different with my hair so I did a lose side braid ponytail. I love how pretty and chic it looks and is so simple and easy to do. Plus it hides that greasy mom hair of 2 kids.
Now that we have a toddler that is independent pictures with mom is too boring, but Keeley loves it. She is wearing this cute bonnet I made for Emilia when she was a baby paired with this adorable teal flower sleeper. Blues are her colour it always goes so well with red hair.
It was such a lovely night out, the food was good the weather was beautiful and it was the girls very first beach picnic. Hopefully we can make it out for a few more before summer is over.
